Harbur Construction delivers first homes of £1.5m Warrington scheme
Building company Harbur Construction has handed over the first new homes in a £1.5m affordable housing scheme in Orford, Cheshire.
The Manchester-based firm is delivering the Edenhall Grove development, which comprises four three-bed houses and 14 two-bed properties, on behalf of Warrington’s Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT).
Richard Hutchinson, Harbur Construction’s managing director, said: “The scheme has been designed sensitively using similar brickwork and materials used to build homes bordering the site, so it fits in with the traditional feel of existing housing in the area.
“The development provides high quality family homes for local people while making use of wasted space, as it is based at a site which had stood derelict for years. It has really helped to regenerate a key part of the community.”
Commenting on the new builds, off Howson Road near Warrington, GGHT chair Roy Smith said the development marks a “new era” for the housing trust.
He added: “It’s great to see these houses now turning into homes.”
