Westfield Health extends partnership with rival Sheffield football clubs

Westfield Health has secured extended partnerships with two top South Yorkshire football clubs as the health insurer seeks to further champion health and wellbeing in the region.

The sports sponsorship deal will see Westfield Health collaborate more frequently with both Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

Westfield Health plans to use the interest in the ‘the beautiful game’ to encourage people to live healthier lifestyles.

With the Blades, Westfield Health will continue its sponsorship of the Bramall Lane Corner Stand as well as the John Street enclosure for disabled people. As for the Owls, Westfield Health will continue as the Official Disabled Enclosure Partner.

Paul Shires, executive director - sales and marketing at Westfield Health, said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnerships with both Sheffield clubs.

“Westfield Health has a proud history in this region, and we’re excited to continue our support which will allow us to engage with fans, the public and organisations to help encourage more people to lead a healthier lifestyle.

“Whether through encouraging children to get into sport or helping fans to make healthy lifestyle choices, these partnerships provide a great number of opportunities for us to support the health and wellbeing of our local community.

“We’re really looking forward to partnering with each of the clubs during the forthcoming season.”

Paul Bell, Sheffield Wednesday’s chief operating officer, added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Westfield Health for a further season.

“Westfield Health is one of the most high profile health insurance providers in the UK and our relationship has grown from strength to strength.

“The new agreement will see the Westfield Health brand visible inside the stadium and across more of the club’s marketing platforms than ever before.”

Paul Reeves, Sheffield United head of commercial, also commented: “Westfield Health has been one of the Club’s longest serving sponsors and the extension of its sponsorship of the Westfield Health Stand shows great continued commitment to the Football Club.

“This new agreement is very much aimed at the interaction with our supporters and delivering a health and wellbeing agenda through our own Community Foundation.”
