Dreamland railway attraction to open in Margate
The Scenic Railway attraction at Dreamland in Margate will officially open on Thursday.
The Grade II listed ride, which is the oldest roller coaster in the UK, was not complete in time for the park’s official opening in June.
The railway’s launch marks the completion of The Amusement Park part of a £28m development project, with restored rides and amusements.
The newly-restored attraction joins 17 vintage rides including a roller disco, pleasure gardens, restaurants, arcades and amusements, all of which are a throwback to the once hugely popular British seaside scene.
Eddie Kemsley, CEO of Dreamland, added: “This launch represents a considerable achievement in bringing Dreamland to life once again and everyone in Margate and involved in the project should be very proud.”
