Secure Parking Wins Liverpool Capital Building Contract

Secure Parking has taken over the management and facilities of the Liverpool Capital Building car park in a hard fought battle between two of Europe’s largest parking operators.

Secure Parking sealed the deal with Secure-a-Spot VIP Parking, their unique and comprehensive online pre-booking system that allows drivers to pre-book and guarantee their parking spot at discounted prices, whilst allowing tenants to access custom discounts designed around their customer and staff parking requirements.

According to Richard O’Boyle, Executive Director at Trinity Investment Management, which managed the deal, “Secure Parking’s innovative approach to tenant services, including its flexible online booking product, dry cleaning, car valet and Click and Collect lockers, offered an experience unmatched by their competitors which weighed heavily on the decision making process.”

As of the 16th October 2015, Secure Parking will also be providing a hub of new personal services to Capital Building residents and visitors, including car washes and dry cleaning amongst others – all of which will be discounted for tenants. At the end of each month, tenants will receive a fully itemised bill outlining their usage.

“Parking is no longer a commodity purchase, and our car parks are no longer just a facility. Customers recognise that we can offer them convenience, security, and a guaranteed parking solution for their social or business needs,” said Guy Watson, UK General Manager, Secure Parking.

“The new online booking services will provide a completely user-friendly experience for customers and tenants of the Capital Building as well as surrounding businesses, driving repeat visitation.”

“Whilst some entrants to the parking industry stake their claim by offering competitive rates via peer-to-peer online solutions, their offerings do not include full car park management services, whether it’s surveillance, customer care, someone at the end of a phone, or added value services like a concierge, or valet system,” said Guy.

The Secure-a-Spot VIP Parking service is expected to increase the efficiency of the day-to-day activity in the area as not only is it available to the tenants of the Capital Building, it is also fully accessible to businesses in the surrounding area, which will now be able to take advantage of pre-booking parking for customers and staff. Businesses will simply have to email or SMS the access code to their customer or client ahead of them reaching the site.

With the latest round of Liverpool city’s Business Growth Grant programme having helped to create 350 new jobs and attract £55m of private sector investment[i] there would appear no better time to be able to invest in and revive the car park of one of Merseyside’s most recognisable landmark buildings.

About Secure Parking

Following on from Secure Parking’s success in London, the Liverpool Capital Building car park will be the operator’s second marque site in Liverpool. It will join their first Liverpool site, the 450 bay Central Car Park on Heathfield Street, which is part of the redevelopment of the Lewis Building. Secure Parking’s involvement in car parking began 40 years ago and since that time they have identified an opportunity to develop a fresh and more relevant approach to car parking that benefits all types of parking customers. With their roots in Australia, Secure Parking has been operating full steam ahead in the UK since November 2010, having won major contracts including Westfield White City and Westfield Stratford City and signed agreements with the University of Greenwich and the NHS.
