Wrexham training company is kick starting careers with a little help from Business Wales

Kickstart2employment (K2e) is successfully securing contracts across the UK following support from Business Wales, the Welsh Government’s business support service.

The Wrexham-based company, which was initially set up to work in partnership with Everton Football Club and Newcastle FE College with a remit to work with young people who were at risk of offending or re offending, is now rolling out its programmes across the UK.

It creates tailored education and training programmes, and provides supported work placements to encourage young people to develop employment skills, healthy lifestyles, and independent living skillsK2e has been supported by Business Wales from the beginning, receiving help to develop its business plan, as well as assistance with HR policies and sourcing capital investment

Julian Hughes, co founder of K2e, said: “The support we’ve had from Business Wales has been phenomenal.

“The advisers are excellent and are always on hand to provide help and advice.

“There’s nothing more frustrating for a small business than finding out too late about funding that’s available, and Business Wales was fantastic in helping us through the grant process.

“We secured funding which enabled us to buy laptops which allowed us to deliver programmes in multiple locations.

“We are very excited about the future as we are securing contracts with a number of organisations from across the UK to deliver traineeship and apprenticeship programmes.”

The free advice service provided by Business Wales offers bilingual information and guidance to all small to medium enterprises based in Wales.
