Bough to Beauty Bespoke expands following growth hub support

A startup launched by two entrepreneurial sisters from Lancaster is growing after landing support from the Boost Business Lancashire growth hub.

Founded by Louise and Victoria Lawson, Bough to Beauty Bespoke, which creates wooden name badges for events and conference organisers, has secured a number of national and international clients since garnering the support of the £7.2m Lancashire Business Growth Hub organisation.

The firm now counts NGO Greenpeace, supermarket chain Waitrose and Jameson Irish Whiskey among its customers, and plans to grow further by diversifying its range to encompass wooden products such events signage and personalised corporate gifts.

Victoria said: “Customers like Jameson, Waitrose and Greenpeace are a perfect fit for us; people are impressed that companies like those believe in what we’re doing.

“I’m not sure we would have attracted them if we hadn’t been encouraged to focus on our growth plan for the business.”

Earlier this year, Bough to Beauty Bespoke’s founders took part in the Lancashire LEAP startup programme delivered by events firm Winning Pitch, as part of Boost Business Lancashire.

Over the next 12 months, the company plans to target new clients in the wedding and hospitality sector, work more closely with Lancashire’s woodland and forestry managers and create jobs.

Delivered by Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, Boost Business Lancashire is funded with money from the European Regional Development Fund.

Since it launched in July 2013, the organisation has supported over 2,800 businesses and created more than 900 jobs.
