Godfrey Syrett invests £100k to launch free conference facility for North East businesses
A new conference and training facility, which will be free of charge to North East businesses and anyone in the local community, has been opened this week at Godfrey Syrett’s Newcastle head office following a £100k nvestment.
The furniture manufacturer is fully refurbishing the first floor of its office building in Killingworth to create a facility which features designer furniture and high specification multimedia equipment with free Wi-Fi.
The new facility, which has been named Hub47, a nod to the year that the company was established 1947, comprises a 28-seater conference and training suite which can be re-configured to suit a variety of uses and layouts. The suite has whiteboards and a full audio visual system with a 70-inch interactive touchscreen TV. There are also breakout spaces for flexible working and hot desking, a media working centre, kitchen and catering facilities, as well as a 10-seater boardroom which also features a large screen.
Godfrey Syrett, who are well established in the education and public sectors, recently announced their plans to expand into the North East commercial sector and see this as an excellent way to establish good relationships with corporate occupiers.
Neil Tweddle, managing director of Godfrey Syrett said: “We have created a space which is very flexible and can accommodate all types of working. Businesses will be able to book the space by the hour or by the day and use it for meetings, training sessions, team building - or even just to try out a different working environment. We are offering the Hub47 facility to North East businesses completely free of charge in a bid to establish connections within the commercial sector.”
Mr Tweddle continued: “Flexible working is on the rise with businesses increasingly adopting new workspace trends including open-plan office space, co-working spaces, hot desking, breakout spaces and third spaces. Hub47 provides an opportunity for businesses to try out flexible working arrangements, giving them the freedom to work as they want to.”
The new conference and training facility is part of the firm’s ongoing investment in the business which is targeting a £40m turnover by 2020. They have also recently completed an £850,000 investment in a brand new fleet of eight purpose-built delivery vehicles and acquired a new distribution site at Belmont Industrial Estate in Durham, which is currently undergoing a six-figure refurbishment.
