Site manager scoops Seal of Excellence award

David Wilson Homes site manager Phil Barry has been honoured in the regional final of the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.

Phil Barry has been awarded a Seal of Excellence Award for his work at Glas y Dorlan in Neath where the five star housebuilder has completed work on its development of three, four and five bedroom homes.

Barratt managing director Steve Williams said he was thrilled with the success of the site managers in the region and particularly Phil.

“We have a long tradition of producing top quality and award winning site managers and to win this regional accolade for quality is tremendous recognition for the efforts of Phil and his team.’’

He said the award demonstrates that David Wilson Homes’ construction teams continue to lead the industry.

“Site managers play a pivotal role in delivering high quality new homes and this recognition demonstrates our dedication and commitment to building new homes of the very highest standard.’’

The Pride in the Job awards are the most coveted in the industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC (National House-Building Council) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality developments.

More than 15,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

NHBC is the UK’s leading new-home warranty provider and Peter Watton, NHBC regional director, congratulated Phil on his win: “NHBC Pride in the Job Awards recognises the hard work it takes to build high quality homes and rewards the excellence these awards uncover. Last year NHBC registered over 4,700 new homes in Wales, and site managers play an important role in delivering these.
