Toy retailer The Entertainer creates jobs with new Preston store
A new toy shop opening in Preston next month will create nine employment opportunities in the run-up to Christmas.
High street retailer The Entertainer, which operates a nationwide network of more than 100 stores, will occupy a 2,600 sq ft unit in St George’s Shopping Centre.
Andrew Stringer, the general manager of the shopping centre, said: “Preston has been lacking a toy shop for some time and we’re delighted to bringing such an established one to St George’s.
“The Entertainer stocks a huge range of toys and it will be a hit for the whole family.”
The toy retailer’s Preston branch is due to open for business on November 21. The firm has seen its profits soar since 2010 and has further store openings in the pipeline.
Gary Grant, a co-founder and managing director of The Entertainer, said: “After experiencing such solid growth across the UK, we are pleased to announce the opening of the Preston store.
“St George’s Shopping Centre itself continues to offer a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more toy shopping choice on the high street and within shopping centres.”
He added: “We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Preston.”
The Entertainer store is one of a number of new shops to recently open in the area.
