New AA award puts The Midland on Top
QHotels’ The Midland is the only four Silver Star rated hotel in Manchester in the AA’s new rating system, further establishing its reputation as the top rated hotel in the city.
The launch of the new Silver Star rating, which can only be awarded to hotels with an existing Rosette award for culinary excellence, recognises hotels that have been selected for their superior level of quality.
The iconic hotel has been praised for an outstanding level of service and cleanliness, as well as consistently high standards of food and drink offerings.
The Midland has also maintained one of the highest AA merit scores in the UK, with a score of 86%, meaning the newest accolade will further cement the hotel as the highest rated hotel in Manchester and one of the highest rated large four star hotels in the UK.
The new rating system aims to go above and beyond the traditional star ratings, providing a more critical approach and will be reflected in both editions of the guide book, the AA.com and the mobile apps. The AA recognises around 4,000 hotels across Britain and Ireland and is one of the most trusted hospitality awards and rating systems in the UK.
Mike Magrane, General Manager of The Midland, said: “Having won the title of Catey ‘Hotel of the Year 2014’, receiving the Conde Nast Gold Award and holding six AA rosettes for our restaurants, we’re delighted to be awarded with this new accolade. It’s a further sign for our customers of the exceptional service and the experience they can expect at The Midland, be it a city break, spa date or an event in Manchester.”
