Why Cashflow is more important than Profit

With research showing that more than a third of companies in Yorkshire rarely, or never, update cashflow forecasts, an East Yorkshire-based training specialist is urging businesses to take control of their finances.

In a special workshop designed specifically for business owners and managers, Claire Taylor of CTF Training, will not only be explaining why cashflow is so important, but also giving practical help and advice.

Claire Taylor, a chartered accountant who has taught professional accountancy qualifications for the last 14 years, said her workshop is the perfect opportunity to get ahead and stay afloat.

“Cash is more important than profit. It is much better to know the truth about your finances than to bury your head in the sand and hope the problem just goes away. There are lots of different ways to maintain your cashflow and, once you apply them, you will see the impact both on your business growth and on your reduced stress levels.

“I want people to feel comfortable asking questions. This workshop is not about judging. And to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the day I am limiting numbers to a maximum of 15.”

The one-day course, certificated and accredited by the AAT, will show you how to prepare a cashflow forecast, which can be used when applying for loans or overdraft facilities. Similarly, if you are planning to buy a new asset and need to free up some cash or if you want to find out if you can actually continue trading, it’s important to know the facts. It will also cover how businesses can improve credit control as well as offering different techniques to ensure money owed is paid on time.

Claire Taylor continued:

“The aim of all of my courses is to make accounts and finance more understandable and less frightening whilst giving people the confidence to manage their own budgets. Without this essential knowledge, potentially good businesses can go under. “

“Managing Cashflow – Keeping your business healthy” is taking place on Tuesday 24th November at the Holiday Inn Express in Hull between 9.30am and 4.30pm. The cost of £159 per delegate, which is payable in advance, includes all course material, lunch and an AAT accredited certificate.

Places are limited so it is essential to book early by visiting the CTF Training website www.ctf-training.co.uk or call CTF Training on 01482 242333.
