Darlington recruitment firm to expand with Barclays funding

Recruitment company Imperial Workforce has announced expansion plans following funding from Barclays.

The company resources both temporary and permanent positions, especially in the provision of support for the food processing industry. As well as sourcing staff, it also provides HR training and support to employers across the North East.

Established in 2005 by entrepreneur Claire Watson, the Darlington-based business will use the funding to support its growth into more specialised areas.

Claire Watson, Chief Executive of Imperial Workforce, said: “We’ve seen a significant increase in business over the last two years and the funding from Barclays will support our growth with the flexibility to tender for new clients and diversify to support more specialised industries.

“We’re able to source a diverse range of candidates across all levels from office staff up to senior executives and the hard work we’ve put in over the ten years is now paying off as we become more well-known across the North East.”

Mike Wicks, Senior Business Banking Manager at Barclays put together the funding package for the deal and said: “It’s been very rewarding watching Imperial Workforce grow their client base and provide both temporary and permanent places for people locally.

“Claire has over 18 years’ experience in the recruitment sector and the increased business she is seeing now is testament to the hard work she has done to secure the long term success of the business.”
