New development creates local jobs in Maidstone
Work to create a new development in Maidstone is set to underpin jobs locally as well as provide homes for the local area.
Five star housebuilder Barratt Homes says that around 280 people will be involved in the construction and sales of its latest development The Orchards – with most being local sub-contractors and tradesmen.
Sales and marketing director Pam Reardon said that in addition to the local construction jobs underpinned in building the new homes, the people who move into the new housing will also spend their wages locally. “This translates into a significant boost for local retailers,’’ said Pam.
“We have seen demand for new homes expand very quickly over the last few months and the new site we are opening means that there will be more choice for local buyers,’’ said Pam.
Barratt Homes, which was recently named a five star housebuilder for a record sixth year in a row, is set to build 140 new homes at The Orchards with the development set to be launched next spring.
The Orchards, located in the village of Allington, will feature a range of spacious two to five bedroom homes. The light and airy houses are set within three hectares of beautifully landscaped surroundings, including a wildlife pond and nature reserve. As an added benefit, Barratt Homes is giving every homebuyer free Kent Wildlife Trust family membership.
