avsnet Achieves Cisco Advanced Internet of Things Specialisation

avsnet has been awarded Cisco’s Advanced Internet of Things (IoT) – Connected Safety and Security specialisation. The certification is only awarded to highly experienced partners that have proven their ability to provide sophisticated, value-added IoT solutions through their sales capabilities, technical experience and broad service offering.

Graham Fry, Managing Director at avsnet said, “The IoT is much more than corporate vernacular – it is a tangible collection of technologies, sensor networks, applications and business processes that is helping to improve organisational efficiency across every industry. Its future potential is even more exciting for our customers; however, some are unsure how the IoT will apply specifically to their organisations. This is why they are looking to us to simplify the IoT and to devise new technology strategies centred around their business objectives. Furthermore, our knowledge of the corporate network means we can assist organisations in maximising the ROI they receive from their IoT and wider collaboration investments.”

A critical component of an effective IoT deployment is physical security. The level of automation possible using the IoT means businesses need to ensure they maintain complete visibility over connected environments and control locations. Cisco’s certification recognises avsnet’s expertise in designing, deploying, integrating and maintaining the video surveillance and access control solutions at the heart of this secure process, irrespective of solution complexity or the end-user’s IT estate.

As one of only two providers in the UK to earn the certification, avsnet is perfectly positioned to help drive the advancement of Cisco IoT solutions in the enterprise. Supported by avsnet’s Master Collaboration specialisation, the company now occupies a truly unique position in Cisco’s elite partner community.

Earning this latest certification saw avsnet undertake a series of demanding review and audit processes, including a comprehensive evaluation programme assessing the company’s sales department, engineering expertise, support and maintenance practices and customer management team.

Nicholas Edmond, Internet of Everything BDM UKI at Cisco said, “We’re pleased to announce avsnet’s specialisation. The company remains committed to providing its customers with the solutions, deployment strategies and support initiatives they need to remain at the forefront of their respective industries. The IoT will become a crucial tool for businesses of every sector and avsnet has demonstrated it has the highest level of industry understanding, technical experience and dedication to its customers to help drive the IoT forward.”

This development builds on an already impressive year for avsnet, which includes the aforementioned two Cisco specialisations and the company’s Rising Star Commercial Partner of the Year award at this year’s annual Cisco London Partner Forum.
