Hong Kong’s Compass Offices enters UK market with new Manchester hub
Hong Kong-based serviced office firm Compass Offices is set to establish its first UK hub after signing up for space at the City Tower development in Manchester.
The company has secured 9,131 sq ft on the 13th floor of the city centre building, which is owned by asset management firm Schroders.
Taken on a 10-year lease, according to a report by CoStar, the move will see Compass Offices add Manchester to its 50-strong network of office locations spanning 10 countries.
Tom Newman, an investment manager with Schroders, said: “Compass is currently the fastest growing serviced office provider in Asia Pacific.
“They’re setting a new direction in the industry through superior customer service, their collaborative and transparent approach, and best-in-class IT infrastructure.”
He added: “Their offices are always located in strategically selected business addresses in major capitals around the world and we’re delighted they have chosen Manchester and City Tower to set up their first UK base.”
Schroders is currently carrying out a refurb of the remaining office space available at City Tower.
Scott Shufflebottom, a surveyor at Colliers International, which acts an advisor for Schroders along with commercial real estate firm CBRE, commented: “This deal demonstrates the huge appeal of City Tower and its recognition as a standout building in one of Manchester’s most sought after office locations.
“Compass has chosen Manchester, and ultimately City Tower, as the perfect place to launch its UK serviced office business because of its central location and quality Grade ‘A’ space which will be a hugely attractive offer to its target occupiers.”
