Hanham Hall wins national development award
Barratt Homes’ innovative Hanham Hall in Bristol has won a top national award for sustainability.
The South Gloucestershire development has been named Sustainable Development of the Year in the inaugural Inside Housing Top Sixty Development Awards.
Hanham Hall in South Gloucestershire is one of the most important developments of spacious, energy efficient new homes in the country.
A former NHS hospital, the 6.6 hectare site now provides 185 one to five bedroom homes. The grade-II listed Hanham Hall itself is the focal point - refurbished for possible use as a community centre, business space, creche or cafe.
The development also features plenty of open space, with kick around areas for children, allotments, an orchard, communal outdoor areas and direct access to Bath cycle path.
“We are thrilled that Hanham Hall continues to win awards for its sustainability,’’ said Barratt Homes managing director Russell Glimstead. “We are proud to have created one of the most important developments of spacious, energy-efficient, new homes in the country - and this latest award is recognition of the huge efforts from our team here.”
The homes are set within beautiful open space and are unique in their design. “We feel we are setting the standards for sustainable living in the future at Hanham Hall, and residents here will reap the benefits of such excellent work from our designers and construction professionals for many years to come,’’ added Russell.
