Construction complete of £9m Haringey development
The final brick was laid today at a £9m care development in Haringey.
One Housing’s Protheroe House development, on Chestnut Road Tottenham, is a brand new development with 50 flats designed to enable independent living with the safety net of high quality personal care and support provided by a specialist on-site team.
The building, which is being delivered in partnership between the council and Season, the senior living arm of One Housing, will include 36 one bed and 14 two bed apartments and replaces the 1960’s sheltered housing scheme that previously existed on the site.
Housebuilding and construction group, Galliford Try plc was appointed, through its Partnerships business, todeliver the Protheroe House project in January.
The scheme is one of two extra care constructions currently taking place with Season in Haringey. Nearby Pretoria Road, another £9 million construction, is set to deliver 52 homes including 8 that are specially designed for people with dementia.
Work on both sites is being delivered by Galliford Try Partnerships and both schemes are due to be completed in 2016, with all of the properties allocated for affordable rent.
Matt Norris, Operations Director, Galliford Try Partnerships South East said: “We are delighted to have been part of the team delivering both schemes within this Borough, for our partners at One Housing Group.
Galliford Try has a strong track record of working within the Extra Care sector throughout the country, and both schemes are excellent examples.
We welcome Haringey Council to our site today to see, first-hand, how well construction is moving forward, and we look forward to inviting Cllr Morton back here, next year, once construction works are complete.“
