Sheffield-based Fulcrum extends British Gas contract to 2018

Fulcrum, the Sheffield-based independent utility infrastructure provider operating across the whole of Britain, has secured a 26-month extension to its contract with British Gas to 2018.

The framework contract to provide new gas infrastructure connections to British Gas’ business customers in England, Scotland and Wales, will now run until January 31st 2018.

Martin Donnachie, chief executive officer of Fulcrum, said: “We are delighted to announce this new contract extension with British Gas. It validates the investments we have made in our operations to support our customers and demonstrates the excellent relationships that have been cultivated between both businesses. Our project engineers, designers and site operatives work incredibly closely with British Gas, which ensures leading levels of project delivery and customer service.

“This new agreement will enable us to work alongside British Gas to further enhance the services we provide to its customers across England, Scotland and Wales.”

Stuart Margerrison, head of BG’s business installations, added: “We’re very pleased to announce the extension of our contract with Fulcrum until January 2018. Our decision reflects the confidence we have in them to continue to deliver leading levels of service to our business customers.

“We’ll continue to work closely and collaboratively with Fulcrum for the benefit of our customers.”

This extension comes after Fulcrum won several other high profile contracts. Most recently, the company secured the delivery of new gas connections to four major Scottish distilleries in a contract worth £3.95m.

In June, Fulcrum reported its first operating profit in its history, for the financial year ending March 2015, while at the end of September, the company announced its half year results for 2015-16, due to be published in December, remain on track to meet full year expectations.

In addition, Fulcrum recently signed a new 10-year extension for its head office in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Martin Donnachie commented: “We continue to enhance our solid order book and extend our strong customer base of more than 1,200 UK clients, which can be attributed to the robust business structure we have in place and has been supported with our excellent levels of customer service.”
