Vic Young smashes sales target in first year as Tyneside's flagship Mitsubishi dealership

Vic Young (South Shields) Ltd has marked its first anniversary as a Mitsubishi dealer by announcing a significant increase in sales.

Since officially becoming Tyneside’s flagship Mitsubishi dealership in September 2014, the South Shields-based dealership has exceeded Mitsubishi’s sales target by 74%

Throughout the past year, the dealership, which has also recorded 97% customer satisfaction rate for the service it provides, has taken on 14 new members of staff, including a fleet sales executive, a fleet telesales executive, customer service support and vehicle technicians to support demand.

Vic Young has also invested £450,000 in a new service centre, featuring 14 workshop bays, each with a lift, and advanced equipment including an ECU unit to diagnose defects, resulting in shorter waiting times for customers.

Managing director Vic Young, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the motor trade, said: “Taking on the Mitsubishi franchise was an exciting step for the business and I’m happy to say it has been very successful for us. It’s fantastic that both existing and new customers have really bought into the brand and this has led to our resounding success.

“The L200 is the biggest selling 4x4 pick-up in the UK and it is fantastic to see that Mitsubishi are continuing to demonstrate their commitment to innovation in the 4x4 sector. While the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – revamped for 2016 – gives drivers the space and utility of a full-size SUV with running costs so low that they show up even the tiniest city cars. And I think the new ASX for 2016, promises to be just as successful as its predecessors.”
