Greater Manchester trio to create jobs with new e-cig shops
Father and son team Steve and Dan Wilkinson, along with their business partner Julian Urry, have revealed a plan to launch several new e-cigarette shops and create jobs across Greater Manchester.
The trio opened their first Totally Wicked store in Heaton Chapel, Stockport, at the end of October and now intend to create over 20 jobs with several additional openings, representing an investment of around £600k.
Premises for two new Totally Wicked stores, set to open before Christmas, have already been secured. The second will be located on the A6 near Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, while the third will launch on Castle Street in Edgeley.
The location of the trio’s first shop, on the corner of School Lane and Wellington Road, was chosen due to Steve and Dan’s ties with the area. The pair have lived in Reddish, just two miles away, all their lives.
Julian and Steve have worked together for over 10 years. They were MD and FD respectively of national retailer Cash Generator Ltd, leading an MBO of the firm in 2008 and growing it significantly before it sold to a US company in 2010.
The Totally Wicked brand of e-cigarette shops, which launched seven years ago, now has more than 250 outlets across the UK. Earlier this year, the company launched a new £1.5m manufacturing plant in Blackburn, Lancashire, capable of producing over 10m bottles of e-cigarette liquid every year.
