BHP Financial Planning completes merger with Cleckheaton financial management firm
Following a period of sustained growth, BHP Financial Planning has merged with Cleckheaton-based Chartford Financial Management.
Headed up by Managing Director Joy Clegg, the Sheffield company employs a team of independent financial advisors across Yorkshire, who together specialise in all aspects of personal financial planning, employee engagement and corporate financial planning.
Joy said the merger comes as BHP successfully meets all of the objectives in its five year plans: “The personal finance market is evolving quickly due to an expanding and aging population, which means that financial security is a priority for more people than ever before.
“Completing this merger with Chartford Financial Management strengthens our position in the market and expands our geographical catchment area into Bradford and my hometown of Cleckheaton. It’s great to have the opportunity to work in the town where I grew up.
“Through working closely with our colleagues at BHP Chartered Accountants we can also offer specialist tax and trusts and estates advice so that clients can access all of the financial support they need through one contact point.”
Joy added: “We also advise forward thinking corporate clients that want to plan for the unexpected. Any business, regardless of its shape or size, can be severely impacted by unforeseen situations, such as the absence of key people, so our risk management and protection solutions are all individually tailored to safeguard businesses against these types of risks.
“By having a team of advisors available to discuss our clients’ issues, especially around the auto enrolment planning that all firms have to do, we can use our combined knowledge to give them the support they need.”
Maurice Docwra, Senior Financial Planner who joins from Chartford Financial Management, comments: “The merger really adds depth to our service offering and we’re delighted to be joining BHP Financial Planning as the team continues to excel.”
