Capita completes Darlington Lingfield Point expansion
Business process management firm Capita has completed a move to Lingfield Point, Darlington, moving 450 new people to the business park.
The company decided to move to the Darlington business park earlier this year, and the hi-spec bespoke fit-out of the 42,000 sq ft of space to meet the company’s specific needs, is now complete.
Now the flagship regional HQ is ready and staff have started to move in, joining the 60 plus businesses already based at Lingfield Point.
Capita is a UK leader in business process outsourcing and integrated professional support services and will sit alongside businesses such as Student Loans Company, AMEC Foster Wheeler, NAAFI and FaulknerBrowns.
Dominic Moore, Asset Management Director of Clearbell, which manages the fund that owns Lingfield Point, said: “This project has allowed us to continue the transformation of Lingfield Point with the regeneration of this huge area from disused factory buildings to high spec, high-quality office space.
“This deal adds weight to our ambitious plans to evolve a regional hub for business at Lingfield Point.”
Tim Carter, director at Connect Property North East, added: “Its blend of location, accessibility to the transport network and customer-focussed approach is unlike any other business park. This coupled with the site’s excellent broadband connectivity and infrastructure upgrade is an irresistible combination”.
Eddie Humphries, Estate Manager, said: “We are looking forward to meeting the new staff, helping them to settle in and make best use of all of the amenities here.
“One of the things that has attracted Capita to Lingfield Point was the great facilities – both for the company and its staff.
“They felt they had found their perfect cultural match and as a service provider strongly identified with our own ethos of customer service delivered through our 24 hour concierge service.”
