Germany Pavilion at IBTM world

The German Convention Bureau (GCB) alongside 55 partners is showcasing the best of the country’s offering for meeting and event planners at IBTM world from 17 – 19 November 2015 in Barcelona. Venues, cities, marketing organisations, hotels and other service providers are partnering with the GCB at the Germany Pavilion (F50) to show visitors why Germany is consistently rated as one of the leading meeting destinations. For more than a decade, the country has been ranked number one conference and meeting locations in Europe. It is also the leading destination for business trips by Europeans with a total of 12.4 million European business people travelling to Germany last year.

Matthias Schultze, Managing Director of the German Convention Bureau (GCB), will join Marie Luise Blau, researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO), to preview the future of events at an insightful keynote at the show.

What’s Ahead? … Innovation @ “Future Meeting Space” is an opportunity for visitors at IBTM world to learn about an innovation project and network formed by the GCB, European Associations of Event Centers (EVVC), and the world renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO). These organisations and others have teamed up to take a look at the future of events from multiple angles including infrastructure, education, technology, mobility and culture.

Hosted buyers can discover the latest about key destinations at daily presentations on the Germany stand. In addition, event planners will receive valuable tips for evaluating venues, boosting engagement as well as an interesting overview of current trends in services and products. Visitors can also sample the best of Germany with tasty regional refreshments on offer including gingerbread, apple juice and refreshing Kölsch beer from Cologne.

The German Convention Bureau works with German exhibitors to showcase the country as a convention and meetings destination at trade shows throughout the year including IBTM World in Barcelona and IMEX America in Las Vegas. The German Pavilions are part of the Foreign Trade Fair Participation Program by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. The Ministry initiated this program to promote German foreign trade, giving companies with “made in Germany” products and services the opportunity to participate in international events and trade shows at lower cost.
