Biffa Supplies Nottingham Building Firm With Top Award

Nottingham based DL Rhodes & Son is celebrating after the firm beat off fierce competition from both national and international competitors to be awarded Biffa’s 2015 Supplier of the Year.

Biffa’s Recognition of Excellence Awards culminated in a glittering awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Northampton, and after a rigorous judging process, the £900m turnover firm chose DL Rhodes & Son as its Supplier of the Year.

Nigel Rhodes, managing director at DL Rhodes & Son and Richard Hancock, director at the building firm were invited to collect the national award, which recognises the supplier that has demonstrated excellence and has directly supported Biffa’s strategic business plans.

Nigel Rhodes said: “This is a massive achievement for DL Rhodes & Son, for us to be recognised by such a prestigious firm like Biffa and to be selected as its number one supplier in 2015, it really is testament to the high standards and fantastic levels of commitment from our team.

“A lot of the work that DL Rhodes & Son complete is done around the clock to ensure that Biffa do not suffer any downtime and we pride ourselves on always turning projects around on time and within budget. This is reward for all of our hard work.”

The construction specialist has put infrastructure into Biffa’s latest technology, back in March, DL Rhodes landed a £1.5 million contract to redevelop a Biffa waste recycling facility in Barking, Essex and throughout the year has performed better than any of Biffa’s 3000 suppliers.

Before DL Rhodes & Son was announced as the winner the host said: “Without this supplier providing the very high levels of service, exceeding our expectations and delivering a high quality, low risk solution we would not have seen the improvements that we have in a number of key locations around the business, nor the improvements in customer service, site performance and employee engagement.”

Mr Rhodes added: “It is obviously always nice to be recognised but when you’re a supplier there isn’t much higher praise than being recognised by people within the industry and people who you are supplying to.

“This means that Biffa is happy with our work and we are delighted to have offered a fantastic service, this doesn’t mean we will now take our eyes off the ball, we want to win the award again.”
