Get Wiggy with it Wednesday!

Businesses across Doncaster are getting ready to don sparkly wigs next week all in the name of charity!

On Wednesday, 25th November, teams from a range of companies based in the town will be taking part, donning glittery bobs, to help fundraise and raise awareness of the Teenage Cancer Trust and the work it does for young people aged between 13 - 24 with cancer.

Get Wiggy With It is one of Teenage Cancer Trust’s biggest fundraising opportunities every year, with schools, businesses and individuals all welcome to join in. The initiative aims to raise awareness of signs of Cancer in young people, and allows people to stand in solidarity with teenagers with cancer.

Some of the companies getting involved include international sports brand XBlades, Custom Windows and Doors, Talk to Media, FourFriends Pet Foods, Fitness Flex Doncaster, IT specialists ACS and many more.

Stacey Morgan, PR and Social Media manager at Talk to Media Ltd said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with the Teenage Cancer Trust, and all the other organisations in the town to help raise funds and awareness, for a charity that does such a great job and doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

“For all getting involved, we are asking them to jump onto Social Media and post all photos of staff in their wigs using the hashtag #GetWiggyWeds to help spread the word.”

Catherine Foster, regional fundraiser – Yorkshire and Humberside for Teenage Cancer Trust said: “The funds raised will go towards providing vital medical care from a specialist nurse for young people with cancer, as well as emotional and therapeutic support for their families and siblings.

“We’ll also be able to continue to give informative and empowering education talks about the signs and symptoms of cancer to thousands of secondary school pupils across the country.

“We do have a selection of wigs for those wanting to get involved (While stocks last) as well as collection buckets, banners, balloons and pin badge boxes to help with the fundraising on the day.”
