Restaurant offers festivities for all palates and purses
Chapter’s Deli has announced its plans for the Christmas period.
Having refurbished earlier this year and with a well-known new manager at the helm, ‘the Deli’ is offering a range of different events this Christmas.
The family-run bar and restaurant has launched its Christmas Evening Menu with four courses for £23.95 featuring dishes such as: - pan-Asian surf and turf with crisp bbq beef and Panko-crumb king prawns; lobster bisque with crab puff; butter roast turkey with the traditional trimmings; pork fillet in Parma ham; salmon and asparagus filo parcel; flambé plum pudding; blood orange and white chocolate liqueur cheesecake; and twice-baked stilton soufflé with fresh-baked mini walnut bread.
In addition, a festive afternoon tea will run throughout December including the Deli’s famous homemade scones, Christmas cakes and new Christmas cocktails.*
New Year’s Eve at the Deli promises to be a lively event with Chef’s specially-created four course menu, fizz on arrival and a party until late.
The Stokesley High Street bar and restaurant marked its 15 years in business earlier this year with a full refurbishment and by appointing a number of new staff.
In addition, Chapter’s Deli has a number of longstanding staff including chef, John Carpenter, who has worked at the restaurant for many years. John and his team of three chefs, including his own son, Brad, constantly update the menu to use seasonal, locally available ingredients in dishes including homemade pizzas, fresh fish and grill dishes and the ‘Deli Burger’, which is made using a special family recipe.
Jake Taylor, manager of Chapter’s Deli, said: “We wanted to make this Christmas bigger and better but more inclusive so we’ve hopefully got something to suit a range of palates and purses, whether you fancy a few Christmas cocktails, a sumptuous afternoon tea or a relaxing meal in a our cosy surroundings.
“We wanted to be able to offer value for money whilst not compromising on chef’s creative ideas so we’ve got some of the best local and seasonal provisions to satisfy a range of appetites this Christmas.”
The Deli is one of Stokesley and the surrounding area’s most popular bars and restaurants, highly regarded for its home-cooked food and live music events, including Motown and Northern Soul nights and showcases for local musicians and comedians.
Chapter’s Deli is open throughout the week for breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea, homemade cakes and scones, lunch and dinner, cocktail happy hours and Sunday lunch.
The Deli’s building itself dates back to the late 1500s and was known as the Shambles. The building was open on all sides and the roof was supported by the cast iron pillars which are still evident today. Each area of the building was a different stall selling produce such as butter and meat with the rent costing 20 shillings a year.
* Christmas menus and festive afternoon tea run from 1st – 23rd December. Festive afternoon tea is £7.95 per person or £12.95 with a Christmas cocktail/mini bottle of prosecco.
