Multi-million pound Cheshire fund opens to boost rural jobs and growth
A new £3m scheme to create job opportunities in Cheshire and stimulate economic growth has launched.
The five-year Cheshire LEADER Programme will provide funding for businesses and organisations that want to begin or grow their operations in rural areas of the county, including parts of Dunham Massey near Trafford.
The scheme, announced by Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Chester, Warrington Borough and Trafford Councils, is part of the part of the EU-funded Rural Development Programme for England.
Cllr Michael Jones, leader of Cheshire East Council, said: “LEADER is a unique and valuable funding stream for rural areas and the Cheshire LEADER team are delighted to be able to start working with potential applicants.
“With each LEADER area having its own dedicated programme manager as well as a Local Action Group, we are able to provide a level of support rarely seen in other funding programmes.”
