Grand Pier Reports Uplift in Festive Trade
THE Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare is reporting its best Christmas trading in seven years.
The seaside attraction has been overwhelmed with the response to its Cirque de Noel themed Christmas Party nights, which will include a host of world-class circus acts.
All dates in December are almost full, and with 900 guests entertained per night, the pier says it will be its busiest ever Christmas period.
The attraction says such demand is unprecedented and cites the uplift in trade as a result of consumer confidence, excellent value and food offering.
Alex Demetriou, Grand Pier Director, said: “We are set for our best Christmas period in seven years.
“Nearly all the Christmas Party nights are already sold out, which has not happened in early October for several years.
“There seems to be more consumer confidence and people are looking forward to the festive period this year.
“There also seems to be a shift from years ago when businesses would pay for parties to now where we have more collections of individuals who pay to make their Christmas party happen.”
Cirque de Noel party nights include aerial and silk acrobatics and traditional circus themed fun, such as stilt walkers and a fire finale.
The party nights offer a drinks reception, an hour of unlimited pier rides, a three-course meal and a live band.
Cirque de Noel tickets start from £32.50pp for Thursday and Sunday nights and £39.50pp for Friday and Saturday Nights.
In addition Festive Lunches from £12.95 are on offer in Tiffanys room during December and two-course carvery party nights with rides and disco for £22.50pp.
The Grand Pier is also hosting a Christmas Grotto, Supper/Lunch with Santa, December 19 and 20, Festive Lunch with end of pier show, December 16, Lipinski Christmas Party, December 19, Christmas Cracker Concert with the Orphans on December 27, plus a New Year’s Eve masked Ball.
