Bassetlaw Community & Voluntary Service Holds Fundraiser

Bassetlaw Community and Voluntary Service (BCVS) has partnered with local businesses for a community event to help get everyone in the festive mood and raise funds for local charity JOEL – The Complete Package.

The Community Christmas fundraiser event, held at the BCVS headquarters next to The Priory Church, Worksop, on Saturday the 28th of November from 11am – 2pm, will offer a whole host of stalls and a visit from special guest Peppa Pig.

Money raised at the event will go towards JOEL – The Complete Package, a charity which supports families who are trying to conceive; through pregnancy and parenting; as well as help after experiencing pregnancy and baby loss.

The stalls will be selling everything from homemade crafts to Christmas-ready gifts; jewellery; pre-loved toys and clothing; bric-a-brac; cupcakes; cards and sweet treats, alongside festive refreshments, a raffle and lucky dip.

Catherine Burn, Director at BCVS said: “We’re delighted to welcome the community to our Christmas event this weekend and look forward to helping everyone get into the festive mood whilst also supporting local organisations.

“Over the past year we’ve had support from the public – whether that is an individual, a business or an organisation, many have given their time, shared knowledge and skills with BCVS and the charities we support. This event is a great opportunity for us all to come together and celebrate a great year as well as beginning the holiday celebrations.”

Bassetlaw Community and Voluntary Service (BCVS) is a Worksop-based charity, bringing together the voluntary sector in Bassetlaw. The charity provides support for organisations such as; JOEL – The Complete Package; Bassetlaw Foodbank and Hope Community Services; and many more.

BCVS can help organisations - whether it is providing assistance in appointing a volunteer, applying for funding or understanding changes to legislation. They also help the community to get more involved in the voluntary sector, organise volunteer placements, support people to gain the skills they need for employment and raise awareness across a broad range of sectors.
