Fonseca’s Stanley Street to host Thanksgiving feast
Fonseca’s Stanley Street is set to host a Thanksgiving celebration in honour of the traditional American holiday.
On November 26, Fonseca’s ‘Downstairs’ bar will host a special Thanksgiving Wine Night which showcases some of the best grape varieties the USA has to offer.
Following the format of their monthly wine nights, each wine will be matched with a traditional American offering, paying homage to stateside sweet and savoury treats.
General Manager of Fonseca’s, Danielle Youds who will host the evening said: “We look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving once again this year at Fonseca’s Stanley Street. We will present a varied menu that truly reflects both classic American cuisine and the age-old tradition of Thanksgiving. “As always we like to champion cuisine from across the globe so it felt only right to mark this significant date in the American calendar. Our team relishes occasions such as this to serve up an eclectic menu of dishes that aren’t readily available all year round.“
The culinary feast will be kicked off with an Amuse Bouche of Hush Puppies with Tabasco Remoulade paired with Washington’s finest San Michelle Sparkling Wine, 2013. Next, diners will be treated to a starter of Deluxe Mac ‘N’ Cheese alongside a glass of Californian Smoking Loon Viognier, 2012. For a tapas main course, guests will enjoy Traditional Roast Turkey, Sweet Potato Mash, Honey Carrots, Luxury Stuffing, Cranberry Jelly and Turkey Gravy, served with another Californian favourite Smoking Loon Pinot Noir, 2013.
Those with a sweet tooth can then enjoy All Butter Pecan Pie along with dessert wine Elysium Black Muscat, 2012, California.
Danielle added: “Perfect for the curious foodie, the wine enthusiast and those who look for any reason to celebrate, our Thanksgiving feast allows our diners to sample the best of sparkling, red, white and even dessert wines that the USA has to offer.
“Year on year, our Thanksgiving menu continues to remain a firm favourite with our guests. Our priority remains to commemorate the US holiday in true Fonseca’s style.“
Thanksgiving at Fonseca’s costs £29.95 per person. Booking is essential and a non-refundable £10 deposit is required.
