Autumn Statement: Bristol home buyers
Barratt Homes has welcomed measures announced in today’s Autumn Statement which will make it easier for people in Bristol to buy homes.
The five star housebuilder, which is building homes throughout Bristol says the billions of pounds of funding pledged by George Osborne will provide even more help for first-time buyers.
Among the initiatives announced today were:
A new £4 billion Help to Buy: Shared Ownership Scheme £2.3 billion to fund new starter homes to be offered at a 25 per cent discount to first-time buyers under the age of 40 Private developers, local authorities and housing associations will be able to apply for government building grants to boost the number of houses being built
Sales director Andrea Pilgrim said: “These latest measures are set to make it even easier for people in Bristol to get onto the housing ladder. Coupled with the announcement of the new Help to Buy ISA and low interest and mortgage rates, it seems 2016 is looking bright for those looking to buy their first home.”
