Inter Hannover to buy Bradford’s Congregational & General Insurance
The Congregational & General Charitable Trust, the sole shareholder of Congregational & General Insurance (CGI) has announced its agreement to sell CGI to Inter Hannover, subject to PRA approval, for an undisclosed sum.
Bradford-based CGI includes the company Congregational & General Insurance plc, and its part ownership of Integra Insurance Solutions Ltd and Iconica Business Services Ltd.
CGI is a specialist insurer of places of worship covering many denominations, both directly and through independent intermediaries. Integra is a Managing General Agency offering homeowner insurance exclusively through selected insurance brokers and intermediaries.
Iconica, which offers specialist services for handling all aspects of customer contact and insurance policy administration, employs 87 people at its head office in Bradford.
Carlo Cavaliere, CGI chief executive, said: “we are delighted with the decision, having enjoyed several years of mutual success in building Integra with Inter Hannover as a strategic partner. Inter Hannover has a firm commitment to developing CGI’s position as a specialist church insurer and in doing so will be maintaining ongoing liaison and support links with the Charitable Trust.”
Nick Parr, managing director of Inter Hannover, commented: “CGI’s excellent reputation, expertise and success are well proven and we see the acquisition as both business as usual and a focus for new propositions”.
