Sports Tours International supports government’s investment in cycling
Sports Tours International, Europe’s leading cycling operator, is supporting the government’s announcement that UK Sport has been given a 29% increase in funding.
This follows on from British Cycling’s response to yesterday’s autumn statement and spending review, which welcomes an investment of £300m into cycling infrastructures outside of London.
Chris Bird Chief Executive of Sports Tours International commented: “The #ChooseCyclingNetwork, formed by British Cycling, has a ten point plan which we actively embrace and support. We believe more investment in our roads is required if we are to encourage cyclists from other countries to holiday in the UK.”
Chris Bird added: “We are committed to community sport engagement through our UK events. Our sponsorship of Dame Sarah Storey, Joanna Rowsell-Shand and the Sports Tours International women’s cycle team is a large part of our drive to get more women cycling.”
Sports Tours International is supporting British Cycling’s #ChooseCyclingNetwork which urges politicians to be bolder on cycling on a national scale.
