Lancashire-based firm enters energy market
A new energy company based in Preston has vowed to help local businesses and residents tackle rising fuel costs.
Places for People Energy, which has its headquarters at Preston docks in Ashton-on-Ribble, offers gas and electricity supply to commercial and domestic customers.
It is part of the Places for People family of businesses, which already provides homes and support services to thousands of people across Lancashire.
As the only significant energy supplier in the market operating on a not-for-dividend business model, Places for People Energy will reinvest any future profits back into the business, resulting in savings that can be passed on to customers in the form of cheaper tariffs.
Adrian Leaker, Managing Director of Places for People Energy, said: “Forming an energy supply company was a logical step for Places for People, as it will deliver savings and efficiencies to its entire business estate, as well as providing an innovative, ethical alternative for commercial and domestic customers across Lancashire.
“We are committed to delivering on our three core principles; simple, easy to understand tariffs, competitive pricing and excellent customer service. Places for People has a long history in Lancashire providing housing and support services – so we’re delighted we can now help local people and businesses save money on their fuels bills as energy prices typically begin to rise heading into winter.”
Places for People Energy’s commercial offer to businesses includes flexible purchasing options to meet the needs of a highly price-competitive industrial and commercial energy market. Domestic customers can switch online at www.pfpenergy.co.uk where typical savings of up to £200 could be made compared to the traditional ‘big six’ providers.
