New Manchester United deal to engage Indonesian fans

Following the news of a £3.9m profit slide earlier this month, Manchester United have signed a new partnership with SuperSoccer, a football media firm based in Indonesia.

The club’s TV channel, MUTV, will be featured on SuperSoccer’s Dens.TV and Nexmedia platforms, where it will be aired to United’s 55m Indonesian fans for the first time as part of the deal.

Richard Arnold, the club’s group managing director, said: “Indonesia is home to some of Manchester United’s most loyal and passionate fans and the club is delighted to be partnering with SuperSoccer to provide our fans with access to MUTV.

“Available on a number of channels and platforms, supporters will now have the ability to view behind-the-scenes footage from Old Trafford and the Aon Training Complex, interesting documentaries on the history of the club and its supporters, as well as matchday build-up and coverage.”

He added: “It is an exciting time for fans in the country and we are pleased to be able to offer this service.”

SuperSoccer’s managing director, Mirwan Suwarso, said the firm is “delighted” to be able to provide exclusive Manchester United content.

He continued: “With over 50m followers in the country, this partnership with MUTV will provide exciting content from the one of the biggest sports organisations in the world.”

The deal follows news of two former United stars signing a deal with a Singaporean firm to boost their plans for a new hotel in Manchester.
