Sheffield workspace design experts shortlisted for industry award

A Sheffield workspace design and build company has been shortlisted for an industry award in recognition of its expertise in office makeovers. Dale Office Interiors has made it to the finals of the Mixology North Awards 2015 in the Fit Out Company of the Year category.

Their shortlisting follows a period of growth and development at the South Yorkshire firm. Four new jobs have been created in the last 12 months in response to growing demand for their bespoke workspace transformation packages.

Dale Office Interior’s managing director, Warren Bricknell, said: “We are delighted to have made it to the finals of the Mixology North Awards and feel this recognition reflects our growing reputation across the region for design-led workplace transformations.

“Our clients understand it takes so much more than a fresh coat of paint and new furniture to effectively transform workspaces these days. We work closely with them to design and deliver working environments which optimise the use of space, light, structural features and technology. Our aim is to create and co-ordinate spaces in which people can simply live and work better.”

Dale, established in 1984, started out selling office furniture, but today it is very much more a full-service commercial design company; with an increasing number of projects worth £50,000 and above secured with clients across the north.

Recently, Dale handled a head office re-design for e-commerce company Visualsoft in Stockton-on-Tees. It transformed a 14,850 square foot space into an inspiring campus environment to meet the client’s desire to create a space ‘for buzz and for business’ for its 200 ‘happy staff’.

Dale Office have also transformed the headquarters of software providers Servelec Group, based in Sheffield’s Victoria Quays. This job involved a comprehensive refurbishment across four and a half floors of the company’s Grade II listed premises, accommodating Servelec’s requirement for robust site security and high spec data cabling.

Other Sheffield customers include IC Innovations, GO Outdoors and Rare Creative Group.

Dale has also transformed its own offices in 2015 creating a new area for collaborative working, meetings and events called The Mix. The company is hosting a series of free seminars for local businesses in this space, on issues such as workplace wellness and biophilic design, which brings connections with nature into the office. These might include green ‘living walls’, natural materials or water features. One such event featured TV celebrity eco-designer Oliver Heath as guest speaker.

Dale also sponsored Sheffield Design Week this summer, setting up a pop-up office space for public use at Sheffield train station.

Warren said: “The market for our expertise is growing as more and more businesses recognise that well-designed attractive and effective working environments can help them to recruit and retain talent, boost morale and motivation and play a key role in enhancing productivity.

“We are committed to improving working lives by helping our clients develop better office spaces; customised to make room for creativity, collaboration, focused work and relaxation too.”

Winners in the Mixology North Awards, organised by Mix Interiors magazine, will be announced at the Hilton in Manchester on December 3rd.
