Mobile Monday Manchester returns to host ‘The APPrentice’

The Manchester chapter of Mobile Monday, a worldwide networking initiative run by volunteers, will be returning to UKFast to host its next event, ‘Mobile Manchester does The APPrentice’.

The event, which is to be held on Monday 7 December 2015 and chaired by technology futurist at Book of the Future Tom Cheesewright, will see attendees take part in a number of fun and engaging mobile tasks with experts delivering insights around app ideas, app development and app marketing.

With inspiration taken from the BBC One’s popular show, The Apprentice, delegates will be asked to come up with innovative app development ideas, which will then be judged by industry experts. There will be some fantastic technology prizes up for grabs for the winner.

Industry experts will also be on hand to share their knowledge through a variety of keynote speeches and interactive workshops. The speaker line-up will include Guy Weaver, associate director at professional services provider, KPMG, who will be discussing app ideas and conceptualisation, and Matt Harney, creative producer from Apadmi, who will be sharing his insights around user experience and user interface design. The full line up of experts will be announced shortly.

Whether new to the industry of mobile or an expert in the field, the event is open to all and will give attendees the opportunity learn something new, have a go themselves whilst networking amongst others within the sector.

Tom Cheesewright, technology futurist at Book of the Future, said: “This event is shaping up to be a big success, and we have some of the industry’s leading experts on board, ready to share their knowledge and insights with those who attend. It’s going to be a really interesting day, packed with new and innovative technology, along with lots of fun and engaging tasks.

“It’s a hugely exciting idea to challenge a large and diverse audience of bright people with creative challenges and see how they respond in a tight time frame. I can’t wait to see how they respond - and what they produce.”

The Manchester division of Mobile Monday was set up in 2012 by leading mobile app developer Apadmi, and has grown increasingly popular ever since. Every event is free and focuses on new topics or trends that are of interest to the UK’s mobile industry.

The event will be held at UKFast’s auditorium in Birley Fields, Manchester, M15 5QJ on 7th December from 6pm – 9.30pm. The event is open to 100 attendees, and those who are interested in attending must register online. The final list of attendees will be confirmed one week before the date of the event.
