Parkdean Holidays wins gold at British Travel Awards

North East-based Parkdean Holidays is celebrating its best year yet following last week’s British Travel Awards, which saw it take home three gold awards* including Best UK Family Holiday Parks Operator.

The evening also saw Park Resorts awarded silver in the Best UK Family Holiday Parks Operator category. The company recently merged with Parkdean to form an enlarged business operating 73 holiday parks spanning all points of the UK, from Scotland to the South Coast and from Norfolk to Cornwall, forming the largest nationwide holiday park operator in the UK.

The glittering Gala Awards Dinner hosted at London’s Battersea Evolution is the UK’s largest consumer voted awards and recognises the performance of travel, leisure and visitor attraction providers.

With around 300 nomination applications submitted from industry enterprises and over one million votes casted across a range of leisure and travel experiences, competition was tougher than ever.

Since its conception in 2008, the British Travel Awards has been recognised as a benchmark of excellence and is still the only travel industry accolade voted for solely by the public, giving holidaymakers and consumers confidence in companies displaying the acclaimed BTA logo.

The grand evening of celebrations took the theme of “New York, New York”, bringing Broadway to Battersea, with compere of the evening, stand-up comedian and Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You regular, Hal Cruttenden, leading the evening of celebrations of the British travel and tourism industry.

*Parkdean was also awarded gold for the Best Camping and Mobile Holiday Company and Best Holiday Company for Customer Services categories.
