Duchy Homes awarded Best House Builder in Yorkshire

~~Excellence in quality has resulted in Leeds-based Duchy Homes being awarded the accolade of Best Builder in Yorkshire and North East* by the National House Building Council (NHBC).

David Mills has won the regional award for the quality of his work at Duchy Homes’ site ‘The Orchard’ in Braithwell, Rotherham. His success was announced at the recent Pride in the Job regional event at York racecourse where over 350 industry colleagues attended and were addressed by Geoff Egginton, NHBC Regional Director. David Mills had been shortlisted to attend the award ceremony from over 2000 site managers from across Yorkshire and the North East.

Geoff Egginton NHBC Regional Director said: “This competition has run for 35 years and is recognised as the Oscars of the house-building industry. Pride in the Job’s role is unique, as it is the only awards event that focuses on the contribution of site managers in producing high-quality new homes. I was very impressed with the quality of David’s site and had no hesitation in making David the North East regional winner in the Small Builder category.” Jim Cropper, Group Managing Director of Duchy Homes said: “We are extremely happy that David has secured this award, which places David and Duchy Homes firmly as a top house builder in the region. The Regional Award winners have excelled in 12 months of rigorous judging and are the top 1 per cent of their profession. We are all very excited that David will now go on compete in the national Supreme Awards Gala Final held on January 15th. A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive and represents the success of the whole team from the site manager, his team and associated trades, as well as the contribution of everyone back in the office. Buyers of Duchy Homes can be confident that they are buying the best in the Yorkshire and North East!” Footnote * Awarded in the 2-50 units per annum category
