Hoults Yard completes £5m refurbishment
Hoults Limited has completed a £5m refurbishment of the Maling Exchange at Hoults Yard, with funding support from NatWest and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The office and studio complex is made up of 150 businesses and some 600 professionals, home to a wealth of talent from the region’s creative and digital industries.
As part of the works, 40,000 sq feet of warehousing has been brought back into use as modern workspaces – with superfast 1Gig broadband, a concierge reception, 24/7/365 security and a meeting complex. The refurbishment project has created additional space for some 40 businesses.
Charlie Hoult, Managing Director of Hoults, said: “Hoults Yard provides vibrant 21st century office spaces to a range of businesses and the expansion will see us better able to support the growing tech and media sector. As more businesses move in we anticipate new jobs will be created to the benefit of the local area.”
“We have been working with NatWest for more than 40 years and know we can depend on their expertise and support to find funding solutions for our long-term goals.”
NatWest provided funding facilities of £2m to support the refurbishment with additional funding being provided by ERDF. Ashley Clark, a Relationship Director on NatWest’s Real Estate Finance team, supported the deal.
He said: “We were delighted to support the expansion of Hoults Yard which provides a unique workplace for businesses from across the region. The redevelopment will bring more businesses to the area and we wish Hoults Yard every success for the future.”
