Day four: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
#4 Streamline Your Service
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. For today’s top tip please see below:
To some, having too many customers may sound like an ideal scenario. In the “click and collect” era, and especially during the busy winter months, people are no longer willing to wait around and could be put off by long queues.
Over the festive period the number of customers you receive may rise significantly, but having processes in place to ensure they are served as quickly as possible is crucial. While offering self-service isn’t an option or suitable for some businesses, having a “fast pay” area is another alternative, and will appeal to those who know what they need and want to avoid the crowds. Going contactless or at least having a roaming card machine or tablet available is worth considering as it could save your customers a bundle of time and also mean you can increase footfall.
For online customers, offer fast delivery – the equivalent of “fast pay” in the digital world – and remember to check stock levels throughout the day so your website is constantly up-to-date so you can adequately plan ahead.
