Barratt Manchester makes a big impact
One of the North West’s leading housebuilders, Barratt Developments, which includes both Barratt Homes Manchester and David Wilson Homes North West, has built 1,228 homes in the region during the past year and contributed over £240m to the UK’s economic output.
The achievements are highlighted in a new report which measures the housebuilder’s social and economic contribution to the North West over the past year (1st July 2014 – 31st June 2015). Included within Barratt North West’s socio-economic footprint are key figures relating to the company’s support for the housebuilding supply chain, local communities, environment, public services and employment. Figures include:
Supported 4,200 jobs though Barratt, David Wilson, its contractors and suppliers Directly employed 21 new graduates, trainees and apprentices Supported 830 subcontractor companies and 710 supplier companies 90% of components used in the construction process were manufactured in the UK. Donated £23,250 to charitable causes Planted or retained 33,500 trees or shrubs on its developments 1.3 hectares of wildlife habitat were created as part of its ongoing commitment to preserving local eco-systems Generated £42.9M in tax to support public services
