GuidantGroup awarded for attracting and retaining disabled talent

International managed services and recruitment process outsourcing company, Guidant Group, has been awarded Clear Assured status, an accreditation that recognises organisations following best-practice in disability inclusion.

The company, which is part of Impellam, became Clear Assured after demonstrating its commitment to removing barriers from recruitment policies, processes and practices which have the potential to exclude disabled people.

The Clear Assured process is an on-line self-assessment programme which is underpinned by the guidance and expert advice provided through www.clearkit.co.uk. The self-assessment conducted by the organisation is then tested against the feedback provided by disabled people going through the organisation’s recruitment programmes. Consultants from The Clear Company, the UK’s most respected auditors of inclusive recruitment practice, carry out spot checks with participating organisations to ensure knowledge exists across all recruitment stakeholders.

Commenting on the accreditation, Melanie Forbes, CEO of Guidant Group, said:

“There are currently 7 million disabled people in the UK, but shockingly only 46 per cent of them are employed. We believe that employers are missing out on this diverse talent pool and with research telling us that one in three disabled jobseekers have faced discrimination in the workplace, it is clear that the inclusion of more disabled people is not a diversity initiative – it is business critical.”
