Newcastle engineering firm Patrick Parsons furthers South East presence with new acquisition
Newcastle-headquartered Patrick Parsons, a consulting engineering firm, has acquired Guildford-based The Stilwell Partnership, a strategic move to increase its South East presence.
The Stilwell Partnership, established in 1992, has a 14-strong team and specialises in traffic and transportation modelling, highways and infrastructure design and road safety engineering.
Peter Stienlet, managing director of Patrick Parsons, said: “We are very pleased to end 2015 on a high with the announcement that we have welcomed The Stilwell Partnership to the Parsons Group. The firm has a fantastic team of experienced consulting engineers and the move enables Patrick Parsons to add traffic and transportation modelling to the services we can offer our clients.”

In addition to its Newcastle base, Patrick Parsons has offices in London, Glasgow, Huddersfield, Chester, Birmingham, Manchester, Dubai and Sydney.
Appointment announcement
The company has also announced the appointment of asbestos consultant Edward Charlton (pictured above), who joins the firm as as associate director.
Based at the company’s Newcastle HQ, Edward will work to develop an asbestos survey department.
Edward has over 25 year’s asbestos consultancy experience working in London and the North East and will head up the accredited department which specialises in asbestos management and refurbishment and demolition surveys within domestic, commercial and industrial premises.
Edward Charlton said: “I am really excited to be leading the development of a new asbestos survey department at Patrick Parsons in Newcastle. I am really looking forward to increasing the depth of knowledge and expertise we can give to our clients and to help relieve their time pressure.
“The department offers impartial independent advice and flexible solutions to enable clients to meet the ever tightening asbestos safety and legislative requirements and to help develop and cost their projects safely and accurately from the outset through to completion.”
