A festive chat with… Kristian Poliszczuk, Director of online job portal Workango

With offices in London and Coventry, WorkanGo is a newly-launched innovative job board dedicated to filling the demand between companies and low-skilled, immediate candidates. As part of our ‘festive favourites’ series, we spoke to Kristian Poliszczuk, Workango’s director, about the lead-up to launch and the company’s plans for 2016.

2015 – Looking back

What were the highlights for your business in 2015?

WorkanGo officially launched in September 2015 and we really haven’t looked back! 2015 has been an incredibly exciting year for our team, we have launched our new website and gained over 3500 recruitment vacancies uploaded in the first month of it launching. We are also planning on launching the next phase, an incredible app for candidates in January, so really looking forward to that!

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently this year?

We have learned that technology doesn’t always run as fast as they say it does! As our company is focused around heavy technology, these were the areas which needed most development, tweaking and effort on our side to make the success such a positive launch. How has your industry changed in the last year?

2016 – Moving forward

What are your key focuses for next year?

As I mentioned our brilliant app is out in January; this will (we hope) look to revolutionise the job-hunting market – imagine… you are walking down the street looking for jobs, up appears several jobs in your locality that are suitable for your skills and applying is as easy and one, two, three – what more could you want? WorkanGo will provide!

What are you most looking forward to in 2016?

Growing more. We are so excited and happy at the initial success we’ve created; we obviously provide something in our job board that mixes between recruitment and the social aspects – it’s obviously want people want, so we want to look to build on his and grow even more. We’d love to be the biggest job board in Europe by the end of next year!

What do you expect will be your biggest challenge in the coming year?

This is likely to be branding and technology mixed. We understand the importance of our business moving forward with technology and in that respect we need to innovate and always be thinking of new ideas and ways that we can help companies and candidates find each other quickly. The next step is getting our name out there, we have done a great hob so far but we want more people to hear back us and register their account for free!

The softer stuff

If you could go back in time, which piece of advice would you give your younger self?

“Have launched a business sooner, when you are younger (or when I was) it was a big leap to go into self-employment and for that some hesitation was involved.”

How will you be celebrating the festive period?

“In style; all of the WorkanGo team are having our Christmas party celebrations on the last day possible; after we have connected lots more candidates and employers together in time for the festive season – so, if you haven’t listed or filled your job yet, get online via our website and create your free account before time runs out!”
