Touch sensor sales lead to 39% upsurge in pretax profit for Blaydon’s Zytronic

Blaydon-based Zytronic has revealed an impressive 39% increase in pretax profit from £3.3m to £4.5, following an upsurge in sales.

Announcing its preliminary results for the year ended 30 September 2015, the manufacturer and developer of patented touch technology products, also reported a 13% upturn in revenue to £21.3m, up from £18.9m.

The firm produces a range of touch interactive products which are used in electronic displays for information kiosks, ATM’s, ticketing and gaming machines, as well as by military, computer, telecommunications and medical manufacturers.

Zytronic’s touch sensor unit sales increased to 149,000 units, up from 139,000 last year, particularly pleasing news to Chairman Tudor Davies.

Tudor commented: “We are pleased to announce a significantly improved set of results for the year ended 30 September 2015 with performance benefiting from both volume and revenue growth in the supply of our touch sensor products.

“The year has started positively with maintained momentum and a continued drive to develop product functionality, expand the global sales footprint and a focus on increasing shareholder value.”
