Revealed: Business Growth Hub’s eight-figure contribution to the Greater Manchester economy

Business Growth Hub has made a contribution of nearly £55m gross value added (GVA) to the economy of Greater Manchester since its inception in 2011, according to new data.

The business support organisation, which is part of the Manchester Growth Company, has helped create 6,000 jobs and safeguard over 10.7k more in the last four years

To date, the organisation has engaged with more than 19.1k businesses and helped to secure around £57.45m in funding for North West companies through its Access to Finance team.

Business Growth Hub director Richard Jeffery said: “What we’ve achieved over the last four years in Greater Manchester has been phenomenal.

“The figures speak for themselves, and it’s been down to the hard work of the team at the Hub, along with our solid network of advisers, mentors and partners.

“We’re now at a stage where we can continue to build on our successes and look ahead to the next phase for Business Growth Hub.”

Speaking further, Richard said Manchester has reached a “tipping point” in development.

Richard continued: “We will be making a few enhancements to the services over the coming months to make it much easier for businesses to access the full range of facilities that are on offer.”
