With the number of parcels being delivered during the festive season reaching up to 10 million a day, the Christmas period is a time when the true effectiveness of a supply chain is revealed. It is also the last time you want to discover an issue! To ensure your supply chain is ready, carry out an in depth review.

One of the most effective ways of evaluating your supply chain is to analyse it step by step. Firstly, assess your operations to see whether they could be optimised. For instance, establish whether you have enough staff on hand to process the influx of orders. Next, check in with your logistics provider to see if there are any further ways they can support your business during this busy period. For those shipments that are particularly valuable, or those which are time sensitive, consider exploring additional shipping options such as priority services and tracking. Finally, remember to maintain regular contact with your logistics provider to ensure the supply chain continues to operate smoothly over the festive season.
