Hong Kong firm Peninsula given the greenlight for London hotel
The Peninsula Hotels chain, which is operated by Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, has received the go-ahead for its plans to establish a new site near Hyde Park Corner.
According to Business Traveller, The Peninsula London will open in the Belgravia district at 1-5 Grosvenor Place after Westminster City Council granted planning consent.
The hotel will comprise 190 rooms and a colonnade that runs to an internal courtyard, in addition to bars, restaurants, shops and a ballroom.
The Peninsula London will also feature 24-28 residential apartments serviced by a separate entrance and reception area.
Hopkins Architects, which has offices in London, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, delivered designs for the hotel.
The Peninsula London is due to open in 2021.
