Stockport software distributor lands global security brand
A young software distribution company called Distology, based in Stockport town centre, has won UK distribution rights for leading US anti-virus software brand Webroot.
The company, which has recently expanded into new office space in Orbit Developments Regent House, will be tasked with growing Webroot’s market share across the country.
Webroot provides Internet security for homes and businesses and is considered one of the visionaries in the marketplace with award-winning products and threat intelligence solutions.
Distology specialises in the end-to-end distribution of advanced cyber security products to large corporates. It currently has eight staff at its Regent House base and is looking to expand its workforce and attract technical computing specialists, business development, sales and marketing professionals to the town.
Rick Yates, Director of Sales at Distology, said: “We moved from the Northern Quarter to Stockport in the summer and have not looked back. Winning the Webroot distribution deal in the UK is a big coup for us. We are a fresh face in the industry, supplying next generation security solutions for a range of clients worldwide and this is a big step towards getting recognised for our skills and expertise.”
Distology’s CEO Divyesh Lakhani has a history of success with a previous business in Stockport, but it’s a new generation using the town as a place to grow a global concern.
Rick on Regent House: “We have been made very welcome here and have a professional environment in which to grow our business.”
Orbit Developments Managing Director, Tony Jones, said: “It’s great to see another high profile IT business in Stockport. The town is gaining a reputation for IT service excellence which will bring new young professionals in. The face of Stockport town centre is changing for the better. We are attracting international businesses, improving the infrastructure, and revitalising the social scene for people working in the town. Stockport’s business community has built momentum for the town centre, which is why we are seeing companies such as Distology choosing to base their business here.”
